About the Vinyl Foundation
The Vinyl Foundation is a funding mechanism run by EuPC to support VinylPlus®, the sustainable development programme of the European PVC industry.
It collects funds from PVC converters which are dedicated largely to finance VinylPlus'® recycling operations. The programme includes a significant commitment to systematic recycling.
To ensure that this initiative, which has been designed to benefit the whole industry, does not stumble because of financial constraints, it is vital to ensure that the costs are shared fairly across the whole PVC value chain.
771,313 tonnes of PVC recycled in 2019 – more than 96% of the programme’s 2020 target
VinylPlus 2030 Commitment
VinylPlus®
The new VinylPlus Commitment aims to contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with a particular focus on sustainable consumption and production, climate change and partnerships. It also seeks to align with the most relevant EU policies, such as the Circular Economy Action Plan and the EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability under the European Green Deal. In line with VinylPlus’ active participation in the European Commission’s Circular Plastics Alliance (CPA), the new commitment also embraces the CPA’s targets on the use of recycled plastics in new products.
